Saturday 12th November the Rolling Thunder Show held The British Championship for the UK Sprint Cars. Pole Position was taken by #69 Duncan Panton and #191 Ashley Boam on the outside. Sitting on the inside of row two was the current points leader #6 Vince O’Connor with The Mr Kipling #10 car on his outside. Unfortunately #95 Roy Thompson developed engine problems causing him to miss the race.
With a few laps underway O’Connor had a fault in the drive line leaving oil in entry of turn 3, causing Dean White a coming together with the Armco as Panton tried to avoid #10 he also ended up a victim of the oil and went into Armco backwards.
Ashley Boam went on to win the race, Congratulations to Ashley for becoming the 2011 British Champion. Sarah Thompson, 13/11/11
Final Qualifying Round For BRITISH CHAMPIONSHIP
Ashley Boam scored well in the last meeting 29/10/11. This meeting was the last in the British Championship qualifying rounds and with these points, Ashley managed to secure 2nd position on the grid for the final. Duncan Panton managed to overhaul the flying Vince O'Connor and secured pole position, putting Vince on the inside of row 2. Roy Thompson overtook Dean White in the points to put him on the outside of row 2.
During the evening Ashley Boam held off Panton in the heats with two solid drives and no matter what Panton did, he could not find the room or pace to pass. This changed in the final, with the track conditions changing throughout the night due to other formulas. Pit bend, Ashley Boam and front runner Roy Thompson both went slightly wide, and this was all Panton needed to slip into the lead.
Next Race Meeting; British Final ,12 November, 18.15 start 1st race of the night.

Demo Day At Coventry Motor Speedway
UK sprint car drivers were invited for a guest appearance at the historic Coventry Motor
Speedway for two demo races, also on display were a few cars in tarmac spec. On track the cars produced tremendous speeds and fantastic sideways action. In the pits a great deal of interest was shown from spectators and drivers. With thanks to Jeremy Heaver and his hard working staff the track was prepared to perfection. Sprint Cars next appear at Rolling Thunder Show Arena Essex Raceway 8th October 2011 competing for the World Cup.
Many Thanks to Colin Casserly of www.stoxphotos.co.uk for the excellent pictures he supplied.

A Day Out At Horndean Raceway
The UK Sprint Cars held their final round at the S.A.A track of Horndean, Hampshire on Sunday. Weather, track surface and racing was all at it's best. Vince O'Connor was in top form making it 3 out of 3 wins for him.
Heat one saw him take an early lead, closely followed by Duncan Panton and newcomer Paul Woolf. Heat two saw Woolf have a race long battle with O'Connor only for O'Connor to take the lead on the last lap in style around the outside. In the final O'Connor took and early lead and again very closely followed by Woolf and Panton. Yellows came out for Roy Thompson 3/4 distance and O'Connor made the vital jump on the restart, leaving Panton to take second and Woolf to take a well deserved third. A good turn out of cars made a great spectacle for the crowd and an enjoyable day out.Thank you to all the track staff at Horndean Raceway.

O’Connor Takes the 2011 European Title
The 2011 Sprint Car European Championship took place this year on September 4th,
in it’s usual location of Warneton Raceway, Belgium. This time round, and possibly
due to being held later in the year than previous occasions, the changeable weather
made for exciting racing. In heat 1 & 2 the track remained dry, and drivers Duncan
Panton (#69) and Vince O’Connor (#6) won the races respectively. However, for the
final, a combination of swirling winds and intermittent heavy rain downpours made
the track treacherous in places as the cars lined up on the grid. The grid lineup
for the final had Duncan Panton on pole (most likely the favourite dew to his three
consecutive European Final wins), with Vince O’Connor to his outside, Dean White
in third Roy Thompson in fourth, and further back came Ashley Boam, Paul Woolf,
Bob Tiller and Paul Brown. After the first two warm-

WINNER #6 Vince O’Connor

SECOND #10 Dean White

THIRD #69 Duncan Panton

Rolling Thunder Show Expo
UK Sprint Cars will be taking to the track on Sunday 22nd January 2012. The Sprint cars will be returning to Arena Essex to put on some Demo Races at the Oval Racing Expo. This will be weather depending.

European Qualifier April 08/09th 2012
A favourite with all drivers. First meeting of the year is a qualifying round at the 'Warneton Super Speedway, Belgium.' To be held on the Easter weekend Sunday and Monday.
It is always great to see the UK Sprint Cars appear here and demonstrate just how these cars are the UK's fastest oval formula. Lapping in a record 12.6 seconds. Vital points will be earned towards the grid positions for the final held here in September. The drivers points also count towards the overall national championship at the end of the season.
Will Vince O'Connor be able to score as well as he did in 2011?
Pantech Autos Team will be taking two cars to this meeting with a Hire Car available
to rent for the two day event. If you are serious about getting into the UK Sprint
Cars, then now is the chance to put your money where your mouth is, to experience
first-
